The film in brief
The product film shows the IKAR HWPS 6 self-retracting lifeline in use and from the inside: live-action footage shows the application, 3D animations the mechanism inside the device.
Safety you can understand
A self-retracting lifeline has to engage immediately in an emergency. The film was meant to show how the HWPS 6 is put on and used – and what happens inside when a fall is arrested.
To do this, we combined live-action footage of a user in a test and training environment with 3D animations of the device.

3D animation
The 3D animation opens up the device: exploded views and cross-sections show the mechanism inside that you never see from the outside.

Live action
In the test and training environment, a user shows how the harness and device are put on, attached and used. A drop test with a dummy makes the function visible.

Editing
In the edit, live action and animation interlock: close-ups of the handling, the drop test and the animation of the mechanism make up a compact product film.
Result
The product film explains the HWPS 6 self-retracting lifeline in a compact and clear way – with live action and 3D animation.
