The film in brief
A curtain raiser for the Opel Tech Day at the R&D Center in Rüsselsheim: the film sets the scene for journalists ahead of a day packed with technology – from new powertrains and hydrogen to in-house development. Three workshop films explore the topics of the day in more depth.
A day behind the scenes of development
At the Tech Day, Opel opens its R&D Center in Rüsselsheim to the press. Journalists see first-hand what the engineers are working on – in workshops, at demonstration stations and in conversation with the experts.
For the day, we produced a curtain raiser and three workshop films. They were shown live at the event and then used in the Opel newsroom, on social media and internally.

Production process

Concept
Each film had to capture one Tech Day topic in a nutshell. So we developed a dedicated storyline for every workshop: experts explain, while footage from development and the test benches shows what lies behind it.

Filming
Over two shooting days, we filmed at the R&D Center with several cameras: interviews with experts, work in the labs and on the test benches, vehicles and details.

Editing, graphics and 3D
In the edit, we added graphics and 3D animations, for example of the fuel cell and the structure of the vehicles. This makes technology understandable that you cannot see from the outside.
Result
The films accompanied the Tech Day live on site and were then used in the Opel newsroom, on social media and internally.
