The film in brief

With the Central Launch Experience 2024, Audi introduces trainers from its dealer and importer organisations to the new models. The documentary follows three days at the Audi Campus Munich and the Ingolstadt plant – from the show in the darkened hall to test drives and workshops – capturing the atmosphere and the voices.

Three days, many stations, one film

At the Central Launch Experience, or CLX for short, trainers from dealer and importer organisations get to know the new Audi models up close: on stage, on the road and in workshops. In 2024 the focus was on electric models such as the A6 e-tron, the Q6 e-tron and the e-tron GT. The brief was a film that shows the programme as a whole – a keepsake for everyone who took part and an invitation to the next round.

We were there on all three days and captured every station: the staging of the cars in the show, a look behind the scenes of production at the Ingolstadt plant, the test drives and the work in small groups. Short interviews between programme items tie the footage together into one story.

Production process

01

The show in the dark

It all starts with the show in a darkened hall: little light, strong effects and cars rolling onto the stage in the spotlight. Using fast cameras from several positions, we captured the staging as well as the audience's reactions.

02

Many stations, one small team

Over three shooting days, a two-person team covered the entire programme – from the hall and production at the Ingolstadt plant to the outdoor grounds. Drone shots show the site and the vehicle fleet from above and give the film a sense of place.

03

Close to the participants

We also filmed in moving cars, in the training room and right next to the vehicles. The interviews were recorded on the go, without an elaborate set-up – keeping the impressions spontaneous and genuine.

Result

In the edit, three days of footage became a three-and-a-half-minute documentary, with colour grading bringing dark show scenes and bright outdoor shots together in one look. Audi uses the film on its intranet, as a recap for participants and as an invitation to the next CLX.
