The film in brief
Episode 2 of the long-term documentary on the new sludge digestion plant being built by Stadtentwässerung Frankfurt: aerial footage shows how the project is growing, while the project managers explain on site what is being built and what matters most.
A construction site, followed over the years
Stadtentwässerung Frankfurt is rebuilding its sludge digestion plant – a major project spanning several years. So that the public, employees and partners can follow the progress, we are documenting the construction in a series of episodes.
For episode 2, we spent a day on site: with a drone for the big picture and with interviews in which the project managers explain the current status. The episode is shown on the Stadtentwässerung website, on social media and internally.

Production process
01
Concept
Each episode covers one stage of the construction. The storyline connects the sheer scale of the site with the people making it happen: what has happened since the last episode, and what comes next?
02
Filming
In one shooting day, we captured aerial footage of the site, scenes of the construction progress and interviews with the project managers on location.
03
Editing and sound
In the edit, we condensed aerial shots, work scenes and statements into a compact episode. Sound design and colour grading give all episodes in the series a consistent feel.
Result
Episode 2 documents the construction progress in a way everyone can understand – on the Stadtentwässerung website, on social media and internally. The series will continue with further episodes.
